Special Report June 2009

Dear M.M.M. Friends & Family,

It is always our privilege to share with you our blessings and experiences here in the mission field. God has been so very good to us over the years. This is a very special edition newsletter, dedicated primarily to the work our student missionary trainees are doing. We know that you will be blessed reading the stories and testimonies from our friends, students and volunteers. Before you begin, let us share with you this message from our Lord, who tells us; “God does not design that His Human channels shall be uncouth. It is not His will that man shall belittle or degrade the heavenly current that flows through him to the world. They will be educated in patience, kindness, affability, and helpfulness. He (God) has given us a great work to do. Let us do it with accuracy and determination. Let us show in our lives what the truth has done for us. Everyone who accepts Christ as his personal Saviour will long for the privilege of serving God. Contemplating what heaven has done for him, his heart is moved with boundless love and adoring gratitude. He is eager to signalize his gratitude by devoting his abilities to God’s service. He longs to show his love for Christ and for His purchased possession. He covets toil, hardship, sacrifice.” COL, 336; GW, 97; 6T, 418.; MH, 502.

Urgent Call for Prayers, Means, Support

Download: Maranatha Training School (.doc)

Dear Maranatha Family,

As we enter this new year, I pray that it bring to each of us a closer connection with God and a deeper desire and determination to do His will. I believe that in this year of 2009, very serious events will take place that will try all of God’s people. Now is the time dear friends, to give God our all and all. We cannot go about our daily routines as we have in the past. We must awaken to the serious events which are soon,….very soon, to take place. We must now, give God all of our time, all of our energies,…all of our means.
We at Maranatha Medical Ministries have prayed much about starting a new phase of the ministry. There is so much God has already given us to do; But when God says “MOVE”, we must, without hesitation or delay, move forward with prayer and determination to do His will.
God has instructed us to establish a “Missionary Training Center” here in Honduras. It will be primarily for consecrated and dedicated young people whose only desire is to be of service to God and the finishing of His work.
Many of you have been with us from the very beginning of our ministry, and we are so very thankful for your faithfulness and support of this ministry. Now, as never before, we need your prayers; And yes,…we need your support. As you will read in the attachment, we plan to build very modest classrooms, dormitories, and buildings for student industry. This promises to be a great venture for M. M. M.. We are determined to follow God’s outline for educating missionaries for service.
We are aggressively moving forward with this project, and we thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
Please feel free to contact us with any words of advice or encouragement.

Sincerely,

Joe & Elsa Willis

Medical Update!

Dear MTI Friends,
M.M.M.’s last couple of newsletters have told of a young man, L. Rubberman, who needed emergency surgery to remove a large cancerous growth from the left side of his chest.

We had no idea when doctors would schedule the operation, but it just so happend they wanted to operate immediately. Two days ago, L. Rubberman underwent surgery to have the cancer removed. I am happy to announce that the operation was a success, and that he is recovering nicely. It was more extensive than I had expected, because the doctors had to also remove Rubberman’s entire left lung. He is in recovery, and is so very thankful to God for a new lease on life, and to all who have been praying for him. He and the entire family are deeply thankful to our M.M.M. family for providing the funds needed to pay for his surgery and hospital stay. He will be returning home to La Zona in about a week. Do continue to keep Rubberman in your prayers.

Here are a couple of photos taken yesterday at the hospital. Thank you MMM/MTI family.
